Paraphrase of Telegram to Sir J. Jordan, No. 64, dated
March 18th. 1909.
Hankow-Canton Railway Loan.
See your telegram No. 47 of March 17th.
German offer was I understand made in a Memorandum
of terms which the German Agent Mr. Cordes signed on
the 6th. instant.
In a letter of March 7th. Chang Chih tung signi-
fied his acceptance of these terms.
The Memorandum, which I hear was in bare outline
did not fix the rate of interest or the loan price.
